Gunjan Kumar
New Delhi, September 3, 2026: Gunjan Kumar has joined MongoDB as Director, Employee Experience – India. In his new role, Kumar will lead the employee experience agenda for India and partner with business and people leaders across the organisation and globally.
Kumar will focus on strengthening organisational effectiveness, enabling leaders and managers, and shaping an employee experience that supports connection, performance, and growth. His mandate comes at a time when organisations are increasingly placing employee experience, leadership effectiveness and organisational capability at the centre of sustainable growth.
With more than 17 years of experience across people strategy, HR business partnering, workforce transformation, organisational effectiveness and large-scale workforce management, Kumar brings extensive experience working with complex, global organisations.
Prior to joining MongoDB, Kumar served as Vice President – Human Resources at HSBC, where he led strategic HR partnering and transformation initiatives for a global workforce across multiple countries. During his tenure, he worked closely with business and people leaders to align workforce and people strategies with organisational priorities.
Earlier in his career, Kumar held senior HR leadership positions with Amazon India Operations, Myntra, Indian Oil Corporation, and Tata Motors, building experience across HR strategy, business partnering, workforce management and organisational transformation.

Gunjan Kumar holds an MBA in Human Resources from MDI Gurgaon and a B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from NIT Jamshedpur. His career reflects a combination of strategic HR leadership, business partnering and experience managing people priorities across large and diverse organisations.
