Romal Shetty
Mumbai, July 23, 2026: Romal Shetty has been reappointed as Chief Executive Officer at Deloitte South Asia for a second four-year term, effective April 1, 2027. The decision follows a comprehensive nomination process and affirmation vote conducted over the past several months, reaffirming the Partners’ confidence in Shetty’s leadership and long-term strategic vision according to a news report by Storyboard 18.
Since assuming the role of CEO in April 2023, Shetty has led Deloitte India through one of the most significant growth phases in its history. Building on this momentum, Shetty’s second term will focus on shaping the “Business of Tomorrow” by accelerating artificial intelligence-led transformation, platform-driven innovation, managed services and industry-specific solutions. The firm will also continue expanding its footprint across Tier-2 and Tier-3 markets through its Project Bharat initiative, bringing world-class professional services closer to businesses across emerging growth centres.
In his more than two decades of work experience, Romal has led large transformation programmes across more than 40 countries for Indian and global clients, to shape their growth strategies, profitability, restructuring, technology, and people agenda. In the past five years, he has led the growth of the consulting practice from 2,000 to over 10,000 people, with India being the fastest-growing practice across the Deloitte network.
Romal is a fierce believer in Purpose and rallying people to a common cause. He has successfully led signature community initiatives at Deloitte in collaboration with various state governments. These include initiatives like Anemia Mukt Bharat, Sanjeevani Pariyojana, anti-erosion embankment project, and Stubble burning.
A people’s leader, Romal’s core values include stewardship of exceptional talent, client centricity, integrity, and learning from failures. He is a trusted Advisor and possesses strong relationships with Board of Directors, CEOs, CFOs, CHROs, CTOs, and Strategy Directors across sectors.
